Chic Bloggers and Their Coastal Kitchens

My sweet and super chic friend, Megan, from Honey We're Home has a gorgeous coastal kitchen.  She recently moved into a new home that she and her husband built and was excited about creating her dream kitchen.  I agree, it is a dream and it's white! You know how much I am in love with white, Something's Gotta Give, kitchens!

The lighting in the her kitchen makes is coastal and smart.

Desiree's {What I'm Wearing} ~ J. Crew

I always look forward to J. Crew's new Spring Line each year.  It's been cold and all I can think of is having a little sun on my skin (of course with sunblock) and wearing bright coastal inspired clothing.  I usually like to dress like I'm going on a fabulous vacation. And actually, I am going on a few fab vacations and I will be sure to pack these comfortable, chic clothes in my suitcase! Thank you Jenna from J. Crew for having such great taste!

Williams Sonoma Home ~ Spring Preview

If you know me well, you know that I love Williams Sonoma Home.  I was excited today to see their new Spring Preview online.  I am looking forward to getting a fresh new look for my family room, now that I have my new sleeper sofa.  I made a list of a few things I would love to have from their new collection and here they are, but first read what WSHome has to say about using blue and white.

Williams Sonoma Home:
There’s no look more classic than blue and white—inspired by sea and sky, this color combination has been used in homes for centuries. Vibrant and versatile, a blue-and-white theme suits any setting—city or country, beach or townhouse. Blue and white can carry a room from season to season without skipping a beat.

Blue and white are easy to add into existing d├ęcor without totally redoing a room. Create a pleasing mix of patterns, such as a striped rug with printed bedding, or an assortment of handcrafted pillows in textures and shades that add depth and dimension to these crisp hues.

Texas Idea House~Beautiful Beach Home

I love this Texas 2009 Idea House! It's light and airy, has lots of white and pops of color that make it one of the most beautiful beach homes I've come across.  The best part is that it has plenty of room for friends and family.

Guest Post at Honey We're Home {Getting Organized 2011}

Hi everyone! Today you can find me over at Megan's, Honey We're Home, blog!  This weekend I worked on getting a few spaces organized in my home and I shared what I did with her readers. I still have many more areas to tackle but at least I'm off to a good start!

I met Megan a couple of months ago when I was a newbie at this blogging adventure of mine.  I was inspired by how well she keeps her home organized and warm.  She's a new mommy with a wonderful husband and a gorgeous little boy named, James.

Have you been sitting on the fence over a big or small project? Stop by her blog and check out her new series on getting organized for 2011.  You will find plenty of great ideas to get your home in tip-top shape. Trust me when I say, you will be impressed with her beautiful blog.  Oh and make sure you browse through the photos of her home, as well! The photos of her kitchen and baby's room should be printed in magazines.

Thank you again Megan for having me over today!

Much love,
Desiree

In honor of my 100th post I thought I would write about my future vacation destination {hopefully} that my hubby and I have done some research on! Bora Bora!  We haven't made any plans yet, but it's on our list of places we would love to visit. I fell in love with this destination after watching the Bachelorette last season with Ali and Roberto! What a beautiful couple they make! The location for that season finale was in the French Polynesia, Bora Bora Nui Hilton Resort. Check out the gorgeous, gorgeous photos.

Have any of you ever been to this fabulous coastal destination? Do tell!

Chic Bloggers and Their Coastal Kitchens Series 2011

Today is my first post of a special series featuring, Chic Bloggers and Their Coastal Kitchens.  Congratulations to Mary Ann and new friend of mine in the blog world, for starting the series off in fashion for 2011! I am so excited to share with you what talent this lovely woman has.

I just love her newly renovated kitchen!  I can gather from the looks of her kitchen that she, herself,  is super chic {definition: smart and stylish}.

Mary Ann says:
Recently, we completely renovated a 1950's beach cottage where we live in southern California.  Throughout the design process, many great ideas from blogs were incorporated.  I hope that this post will help you see some possibilities for your own kitchen.

First of all, I love white kitchens and I especially love her slipcovered bar stools.

Wow! My thirties went by in a flash! My boys started elementary school, we were moving into a new home and renovating, I went to work after staying home for twelve years, and I started my blog {which is a dream come true for me}.  I pray my forties are good to me!  Soon, I will be celebrating with family and friends and I came across this great party theme for the big 4-0!

Chef Tyler Florence's Kitchen

I always look forward to my House Beautiful magazine arriving in the mail!  February's issue highlights, Chef Tyler's kitchen, and it's GORGEOUS!

I love the masculinity of the dark marble used as a back splash.  Great organization ideas, too!  What do you think of it?

My 2011 New Year's Resolutions

I've been pondering what my New Year's Resolution would be this year and found this great inspiration online to help me.  Happy New Year to you!

1) Pray to the Lord for wisdom (James 1:5) in regards to what resolutions, if any, He would have me make with my family, friendships, and with money.

(2) Pray for wisdom as to how to fulfill the goals God gives me, as I work on getting more organized.

(3) Rely on God’s strength to help me mop the floor after three boys and clean the bathrooms.

(4) Be accountability to my husband who will help me and encourage me.

(5) Don’t become discouraged with occasional failures; instead allow them to motivate me further.

(6) Don’t become proud or vain, but give God the glory. Psalm 37:5-6, “Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.”

Delicious Coastal Meals to Start off The New Year

I don't know about you, but all I ate this Christmas break was cake and cookies.  Although, I didn't gain much {thanks to my running schedule} I do feel stuffed and need a little change in my diet.  My husband, the Italian man that he is, is a terrific cook.  I would actually consider him a chef, my personal chef.  I clean, he cooks!  Well, I found these great recipes to start off the new year in a healthy way for my whole family.  Thanks sweetheart!
