I'm so happy I found this sophisticated and casual chic home today on Pinterest...it's just what I needed to get my house fix! The designers are, M. Elle Design, a mother and two daughter team based in New York City and Newport Beach California.   Their design style is inspired by their love of travel and discovery.  Beautiful work ladies...

Coastal Living ~ Ultimate Beach House 2011

Yeah! The Coastal Living's Ultimate Beach House 2011 photos are finally up and in true form they delivered a beautiful beach house that's chic and oh so inspiring!  This lovely home styled by interior designer, Phoebe Howard, is located in the community of East Beach in Norfolk,Virgina.  She did a beautiful job creating design ideas that we can use in our homes (on the beach or not). Mediterranean Style Beach House

This beautiful ocean front home is located in Sea Island, Georgia.  It's design is Mediterranean and the warm interiors blend in perfectly for the fall season. 



Loving This

Restoration Hardware has this great set on sale now! It will cost mucho dinero for everything, but I'm sure it will last a long time.  Love the look of pewter with charcoal cushions and the fact that metal will hold up better in the climate I live in than teak.

Thoughts of Autumn

I'm having so much fun enjoying the very small change in weather we had this week.  The sub-tropical climate I live in was dry with low humidity and my hair was very happy! I also had my first venti latte yesterday to ring in the weekend and that was a special treat for me.  Today, I'm going to spend some time making a list of things I would like to do this fall.......

1. make caramel covered apples for my boys.....(my little guy will help me with this :0)
2. bake delicious cupcakes with autumn inspired toppings and sprinkles....yum
3. hang my fall wreaths

It's so nice to see a beach house that's cozy and perfectly designed for year round enjoyment.  This Swedish designed, get-a-way beach house is located in Southhampton. The interiors were inspired to be young, light and modern-with a mix of exotic Hawaiian fabrics.  Thank you House Beautiful for including a beach house in your October issue!

I Remember

I was at the pediatrician's office with my two younger boys and the doctor's mother called from New York and told him that a plane hit one of the Twin Towers.  He came back into the examining room and shared with me what his mother said.  He was in shock but we talked and figured that it had to be some sort of pilot error or plane problem that would make it fly so low.  A few minutes later the phone rang again and his mother was frantic this time.  The other tower was hit.  I did everything I could in those first few seconds to take a deep breath and not panic and then I started to pray. I gathered by boys and was out the door and on my way to pick up my older son from his first grade classroom.  I was the first mother to arrive at the school and by the time I left the school, mother's and nannies were flooding the school office to do the same.  

Now ten years later......I still remember where I was and how I felt.  I still continue to pray for those families that were personally affected by a loss of a loved one. 

New York to me is a very special place.....a place where my ancestors first came to be a part of this great country.

I am proud to be an American.

A: Whether I’m dressing myself or a table, I love to mix colors and patterns. This summer I’ve been pairing different shades of blue with white. Since returning from a family vacation in Italy, I have been combining hand-painted Italian pottery with cobalt blue glasses. The combination makes for a great setting — casual but elegant.

Jennifer Aniston's New Chic Hollywood Hills Home

I was thrilled to see that Jennifer is in love and looking for a home with her boyfriend.  She has always been one of my favorite stars, mostly due to her chic way of dressing.  She also looks fabulous for a woman who is in her early forties!  Truly an inspiration to us ladies......you can still look sleek and beautiful in your forties!
